2010 WSOP: November Nine - Jason Senti
Anticipation and intrigue continues to grow for the WSOP 2010 November Nine that will take place this fall on ESPN as the main event final table poker odds are already being handicapped. Jason Senti will have one of the toughest assignments of the November Nine as he will enter action with the lowest chip count at 7,625,000 compared to number one player Jonathan Duhamel's 65,975,000. Senti has 1 WSOP cash, and earnings of nearly $18,000. Senti is a 25-year old former electrician who is also part of a rock group. He quickly discovered he was so good at poker that he could give up his regular gig to turn professional.
Senti made the majority of his money playing online poker ring games and lacks a significant amount of live experience. His best experience is as a specialist in cash games at online poker room high stakes tables. "This is certainly a boost to my poker career," said the man from Minnesota. "I've been a professional for a few years now and it'll give me increased exposure that might help me work out a deal with a poker site. Most of all I won't have to worry about money."
"Making the November Nine is the pinnacle in the public eye, but I don't think it's near the accomplishment of making the transition from an engineering job to making a very good living online, but this is public" Senti continued. "It's a wonderful opportunity." Senti is currently an instructor at Phil Galfond's Bluefire Poker. An engineering graduate of the University of North Dakota, Senti started playing poker after watching it on TV. "I decided to give it a shot and deposited a few bucks online," he said. As for making the November Nine Senti simply said that, "It's been a surreal experience. It's already been a lot different than I would have expected."
