Live poker less entertaining than an arrow in the neck!

itting comfortably in the 4 walls of an office, playing free roll poker and enjoying a nice cup of coffee one can sometimes not really find anything more peaceful. Online poker is like that, its fast, furious and fun all in one and whilst the games are only for a few chips to possibly get into a second round one has to say it beats live poker on the television hands down.

They certainly are professional, playing at high stakes in front of television crews, lighting equipment and thousands staring at them from home but god is it boring! Why should a professional take four long suicidal minutes deciding whether to call, raise or bluff on six-jack? Do they have ear pieces where the production managers asks them to wait out to raise more tension or are they just as bored as the viewers are and are on a tight time schedule?

Watching the same players sit around the same tables playing the same game is boring enough, but to watch someone thinking for more than thirty seconds warrants something close, if not on the button, assassination! The best thing with online poker is that most poker rooms have a 15 second limit to make their decision, something the tv producers should look into heavily should they want to increase the viewing percentage.

The time limit could possibly be raised to 30 seconds for high stake games but there are not that many decisions to make and that should give players ample time. One may see more folding of cards but you will be more entertained as cards are drawn faster, players have to react quicker and games become shorter meaning less of a burden on the tv license payer.

The top 10 online poker rooms really have it down to a tee at the moment and it is a shame that offline poker cannot follow suit as most would prefer an arrow in the neck than watch Phil Ivey do his times tables in his head.
