What is a free roll poker noob?

Whilst going through numerous online poker tournaments to review their software and online customer service, I felt impelled, if not under instruction, to try some of the free roll poker tournament that are currently available over a host of poker sites.

This did mean typing my e-mail address and numerous usernames out about 30 times but in hindsight it was fun. Many of the free roll tournaments are so simply set out that the only issue you may have is forgetting to register. Obviously there are hugely popular with many players registering for the tournaments as soon as they free to do so. Admittedly I did miss out on a few due to watching the kettle boil but again, there are enough out there to keep you playing for nothing for a good 24 hours.

The majority of the free roll poker tournaments were for prizes ranging from $50 - $1500. This did not mean that the top prize was the total with the prize usually being split between 5-20 players meaning the winner would collect $15 from a $50 free roll.

It was whilst playing these tournaments when I decided to try and win the thing, as a gambling writer it was my firm belief that I knew enough about the game to do quite well. If I had a very good hand I would go all out. To my horror I discovered many players just wanted to get the tournament out of the way and just go "All In" before seeing any other cards. Those that did not go "All In" were subsequently called "noob" by more than one player which was not only rude but also lacked respect by those making the comments.

Free Rolls in my opinion come with a good incentive the main one being they are free, meaning you do not have to seek out specific Instadebit Casinos. But certain players do not wish to play through the tournament but just go all in a few times and if they get lucky, sit out for about half an hour waiting for others to fall by the wayside. These players obviously have no confidence in their gameplay and simply only enter to see what might happen.

Online Casinos such as Ladbrokes Casino now offer other games on a free roll basis such as online slots, blackjack and even roulette.

On the whole online poker looks to be going in the right direction with regards to free roll poker and the small percentage of these "noob callers" will filter out once the excitement of it rubs off.
